Halifax Regional Police responded to 680 calls for service over the weekend. Some notable incidents are as follows:
Police charge woman with attempted murder
On May 23 at approximately 3:35 p.m., police responded to the 6500 block of Bayers Road in Halifax for a reported stabbing.
Officers breached the door of the location and arrested the suspect without incident. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital. The victim and the suspect were known to one another.
Marley White, 41, will appear in Halifax provincial court to face charges of:
• Attempted murder
• Possession of a weapon dangerous
• Uttering threats

Theft leads to multiple charges
On May 23 at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to a theft at Sport Check, Halifax Shopping Centre. Police saw a man fleeing the store with unpaid merchandise and entering the passenger side of a vehicle waiting on Cook Avenue.
Officers stopped the vehicle, the suspect got out of the passenger side, confronted officers, and resisted arrest.
The arresting officer and suspect were transported by EHS to the hospital with minor injuries. Both were released from hospital and the suspect remained in police custody.
Brandon Rogers, 39, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:
- Theft under $5000
- Possession of stolen goods under $5000
- Breach of release order
- Resisting arrest
